Taking on Switzerland’s Rivers: CudaJet Explorer Series EP1
Share
The CudaJet Explorer Series begins in Switzerland, taking our Underwater Jetpack into powerful river currents, deep emerald pools and cold mountain meltwater. For Episode One, we set out to explore an extraordinary place and push the product further than we had before.
Visiting in September, towards the end of the season, we found emerald-green water flowing between beautifully carved, smooth rocks. In places, the river reached approximately 15 metres deep. The water was cold and fresh, and the scenery alone would have justified the trip.
But we had come to put our engineering to work.
We powered upstream against fast-moving currents, explored beneath the surface and turned back for high-speed runs downstream. CudaJet is one of very few watersports products in the world capable of combining this kind of powered river exploration with the freedom of body-mounted underwater flight. This expedition gave us the opportunity to show what that means in practice.
We believe every engineer should get out and test the products they design. Being in the water with something you have built gives you a direct understanding of its power, control and response. Here, the demanding conditions put those qualities to the test and demonstrated the confidence we have in our engineering.
That belief sits at the heart of the Explorer Series and our registered trademark, Live in the Real World®. We build CudaJet to get out there, explore and experience places like this for ourselves.
The setting was beautiful, but the hazards were serious. Powerful currents and waterfall drops made parts of the river potentially fatal. Activity of this kind is for trained professionals only and must not be imitated. Trust in the equipment does not remove the risks of the environment.
Watch the expedition unfold in our first Explorer Series episode.
