CudaJet Founder Archie O’Brien in Forbes 30 Under 30

We are proud to announce that CudaJet founder and CEO Archie O’Brien has been named to Forbes 30 Under 30, receiving international recognition for his work creating the world’s first Underwater Jetpack.

Selected in Manufacturing & Industry for the 2026 awards, Archie’s inclusion marks a proud moment for CudaJet and the years of design, engineering and dedication behind underwater flight.

The idea began in 2017, while Archie was studying product design at Loughborough University. Within seven months, he had built the first working prototype. Years of development followed before the first production Jetpacks were delivered in 2023, turning a personal ambition into an experience that others could enjoy.

From the outset, the aim was to make flying underwater feel natural. Power and manoeuvrability had to work alongside comfort, intuitive control and the freedom to move without holding a propulsion device in front of the body. Archie led the design of the Jetpack, harness and controller, considering how each would work together and how the complete system would feel in the water.

To mark the recognition, Archie shared a few words that capture the philosophy behind CudaJet:

“Built through sustained focus on engineering, performance, and long-term execution of core values. Manufactured in England.”

That focus continues today. Designed and manufactured in England, the fully electric CudaJet Underwater Jetpack is used by private owners, superyachts and luxury resorts internationally.

It is a pleasure to see Archie recognised among this year’s Forbes honourees. For everyone who has followed CudaJet from its early development to its place amongst other industry-leading British brands, this is a moment worth celebrating.

Congratulations to Archie, and our thanks to the team, clients and partners who have been part of the journey.
